Summary
The position holder is responsible for the administration of the showroom and the warehouse (if applicable), and for managing the employees while ensuring a high level of customer service.  Also, he/she is responsible for business development, putting in place initiatives to stimulate sales.

Responsibilities

Employee Management

  • In collaboration with HR services, participate in the hiring process and the continuous training of the showroom personnel;
  • Supervise and evaluate employees (5 to 7 Sales Consultants and one warehouse employee (if applicable) and ensure application of internal company policies;
  • Communicate annual sales objectives to staff and follow up on a monthly basis in order to take corrective measures upon need;
  • Prepare schedules and approve hours using the electronic timekeeping system.

Administration of the Boutique workspace and if applicable, warehouse management

  • Participate in the establishment of the annual sales objectives in collaboration with Management;
  • Ensure that health and safety rules are followed by employees and participate in prevention actions in collaboration with HR services;
  • In respect of corporate policies, receive and manage customers’ complaints or claims for which Sales Consultant are not able to ensure resolution;
  • Produce monthly reports using the internal management system (orders prepared and orders on hold) in order to coordinate or execute follow up with clients for pick-up;
  • Resolve daily issues affecting Boutique workspace operations (ex: computer problems, availability of working tools, etc.):
  • Ensure cash management in collaboration with accounting;
  • Make bank deposits on a weekly basis and various purchases upon need;
  • Follow-up on new accounts opening requests;
  • Manage the designers database for payment of “kick-backs”;
  • Participate during the Boutique workspace inventory;
  • Ensure replenishing of products, office supplies or other services required for the day-to-day to run smoothly.

Sales & Development

  • Oversee the achievement of the Boutique workspace sales targets (accountability);
  • Plan and ensure execution of solicitation activities towards a clientele of designers;
  • Meet and qualify designers and entrepreneurs in order to evaluate the type of partnership and the proper discount;
  • Supervise the sales process on the showroom floor and participate upon need, assisting clients in the selection of products that meet their needs;
  • Participate in the elaboration of strategies to maintain and develop the existing clientele;
  • Put in place and maintain tools for tracking sales performance of employees (ex: sales report by employee, sales per products, etc.);
  • Put in place and maintain dashboards to present the Boutique workspace portrait to Management;
  • Ensure visibility of Ceragres in the market, working in close collaboration with Management, Marketing & Product Development services;
  • Ensure proper display of products in the showroom, in respect of Marketing requirements;
  • Participate in special/promotional events.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in retail employee supervision;
  • 5 years of relevant experience in retail sales, including 2 in business development;
  • College Diploma in Interior Design or another program related to the role OR equivalent experience in the field of design;
  • Experience in the design industry, floor covering or any similar industry (asset);
  • Bilingualism (depending on location);
  • Leadership;
  • Ability to develop, mobilize and motivate a sales team;
  • Ability to establish strong and lasting relations with clients;
  • Ability to support and communicate the corporate vision to employees;
  • Demonstrated management and interpersonal skills;
  • Fast-learning and problem solving abilities;
  • Ability to perform calculations (imperial system);
  • Ability to vulgarize technical information to clients;
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office.
